Mechanical design engineer (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities

1. You will be responsible for the conceptual, constructive and project-related processing and support of production plants and plant components
2. You work with 3D CAD such as SolidWorks as well as CAD management systems such as SolidWorks PDM
3. You are responsible for the selection and specification of the materials to be used (metals, plastics, special materials for high-temperature and vacuum operation)
4. You create production-ready design documents including parts lists
5. You check technical documents and subsequently approve them
6. You will be involved in the preparation of technical documentation, including risk assessment, for production systems and machines in accordance with the Machinery Directive or DIN standards.
7. You will also be responsible for the approval of parts and sub-assemblies as well as plant components at the supplier's and service provider's premises.
8. You work closely with other departments e.g.: Product Management, Purchasing, Production as well as Electrical and Software Design.
9. Your tasks also include the simulation and calculation of the chamber statics of vacuum coating systems
10. In addition, you will be responsible for the design and dimensioning of cooling circuits for chamber cooling

Requirements

• You have successfully completed your university degree in mechanical engineering or are a state-certified technician
• You have already gained several years of professional experience in the design of vacuum coating equipment
• You are skilled in the preparation of mechanical simulations and static analyses and calculations
• The handling of product data management software is no challenge for you
• You are familiar with the CE-compliant development of systems in accordance with the relevant Machinery Directive
• You efficiently implement your extensive technical know-how with Solid Works 2021 and use Microsoft Office applications in your daily work
• Ideally, you have already evaluated and approved plants / components from outside Europe
• You have already proven your communication and assertiveness skills internationally
• You are prepared for short, occasional business trips
• You have already proven your business fluent language skills (German, English) internationally.
